Welcome to Colchester Climbing Club

Colchester Climbing Club is a friendly group of mixed ages and abilities, based in North-East Essex, who welcomes new members. The club is run by climbers, for climbers.

We meet every week, on Monday and Thursday evenings, to climb at our local wall which is located in the University of Essex Sports Centre. After climbing on Thursday, we quite often go to one of the nearby pubs in Wivenhoe for some liquid refreshment.

From spring to autumn, we run monthly climbing trips to crags up and down the country as well as some in foreign parts, and then over the winter months we organise walking trips.

On top of this, members regularly visit other nearby climbing walls and like to get together for socials throughout the year.

CCC is affiliated with the BMC and our mission is to promote the interests of climbing, hillwalking and mountaineering amongst members of the club, and to provide an opportunity for members of the club to meet and participate in climbing, hillwalking and mountaineering activities together.
