A club for climbers, walkers, and mountaineers.
We meet every week on Thursday evenings, to climb at our local wall located in the University of Essex Sports Centre.
From spring to autumn we run monthly climbing trips to upland areas of the country - and sometimes abroad - where we climb, walk, or go scrambling. We base ourselves at nearby campsites. Over the winter months we organise walking trips, staying in bunkhouses. If the weather is favourable some members might climb too.
We also regularly visit other nearby climbing walls and get together for socials throughout the year, often for local walks and meals out.
CCC is affiliated with The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) and our aim is to promote an interest in climbing, hillwalking, and mountaineering, and to provide opportunities for members to meet and participate in those activities together.
